ABOUT
KENDRA TERPENNING is an award-winning costume designer based in Toronto. Her work elevates each production with a combination of in-depth research, bespoke construction, and choices rooted firmly in character, setting, and texture. Kendra is currently in production on Child’s Play, an adaptation of Alice Munro’s short story starring Sandra Oh. Written for the screen by Hannah Moscovitch, the film also serves as the English-language debut for director Wang Xiaoshuai. Her upcoming slate includes Jane Schoenbrun’s highly anticipated Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (Plan B/MUBI), world premiering as the Opening Night selection of Festival de Cannes' Un Certain Regard, and the summer camp comedy Tiny Fugitives, produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg via Point Grey Pictures, starring Johnny Knoxville. Past credits include seasons of Doc and Accused for Sony Pictures Television/Fox, the 2022 eight-episode revival of the iconic Canadian sketch series The Kids in the Hall for Amazon Prime Video, Night Raiders, an Indigenous-led co-production between Canada and New Zealand, written and directed by Danis Goulet and executive produced by Taika Waititi, and Through Black Spruce, a dramatic thriller directed by Don McKellar, produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada.
Kendra won the 2022 Canadian Screen Award and 2022 CAFTCAD for Best Costume Design for her work on Night Raiders. She is a graduate of the University of Victoria (Bachelor of Fine Arts, specialization in Costume Design).
