KENDRA TERPENNING is an award-winning costume designer based in Toronto. Her approach combines in-depth research and bespoke construction with choices rooted firmly in character, setting, and texture. Kendra is currently in production on Child’s Play, an adaptation of Alice Munro’s short story starring Sandra Oh. Written for the screen by Hannah Moscovitch, the film also marks the English-language debut for director Wang Xiaoshuai. Her upcoming slate includes A Woman in the Sun, the directorial debut of Julia Cox starring Academy Award winners Renée Zellweger and Sissy Spacek, and the summer camp comedy Tiny Fugitives, produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Notable credits include Jane Schoenbrun’s critically acclaimed Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (MUBI/Plan B), which world premiered as the 2026 Opening Night selection of Festival de Cannes' Un Certain Regard, the 2022 revival of the iconic Canadian sketch series The Kids in the Hall for Prime Video, Night Raiders, an Indigenous-led co-production between Canada and New Zealand, written and directed by Danis Goulet and executive produced by Taika Waititi, and Through Black Spruce, a dramatic thriller directed by Don McKellar, produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada.
Kendra won the 2022 Canadian Screen Award and the 2022 CAFTCAD for Best Costume Design for Night Raiders. She is a member of IATSE locals 873 and 891. She is repped by UTA.
