ABOUT

KENDRA TERPENNING is an award-winning Costume Designer based in Toronto and Vancouver. Since completing her degree (University of Victoria, Bachelor of Fine Arts), Kendra has pursued projects that allow her to develop an authentic voice, with choices rooted in character, setting, and texture. Combining in-depth research, eclectic styling, and bespoke construction, Kendra’s work elevates each production with the visual language of costumes. Upcoming credits include Tiny Fugitives (dir. Michael Lewen) and Season 1 of Doc (Sony/Fox). Past credits include Season 1 of Accused (Sony/Fox), The Kids in the Hall (Amazon), Night Raiders (dir. Danis Goulet), and Through Black Spruce (dir. Don McKellar).

Kendra won the Canadian Screen Award and CAFTCAD for Best Costume Design for her work on Night Raiders and received a CAFTCAD nomination for her work on Goalie (dir. Adriana Maggs). She is a member of the IATSE Local 891 and NABET Local 700.

As a Producer, Kendra has two feature films in development – The Burial and Eden. The Burial is a 1970s-set psychological thriller; after being arrested for a violent crime and serving a thirteen-year prison sentence, Eleanor Loach returns home to exact revenge upon her identical twin, Gertrude, who may or may not have betrayed her to the authorities years prior. The Burial received development support from Telefilm Canada. Eden is a contemporary police procedural wherein two homicide detectives investigate the mass suicide of a doomsday cult found inside a shipping container at the Port of Vancouver.
